One of the few films that give me the "I need to take a shower" feeling...Seen this many times, and it still never loses the gut punch...

This film incorrectly gets lumped into the Slasher genre...while it does have that element somewhat, it is way too disturbing to be considered a Slasher...

Joe Spinell, who you may remember from the first two Rocky and Godfather films, is Frank Zito, a loner with mommy issues...so he takes to stalking hookers and assorted other women and kills them...quite nastily...then scalps them and dresses up mannequins with their clothes and scalps to always keep them...Loads of graphic violence in this one...courtesy of Tom Savini of course...

Spinell is so damn convincing in this role...Sweaty, seedy, and just kind of gross...I mean, you can almost smell him...lots of inner dialog that is creepy...

Directed by Bill Lustig (who now runs Blue Underground) in 1980, this for sure is one disturbing flick...it is not a feel good film by any means...but it is essential viewing...

I believe BU just re-released this earlier this year, so it should be easily available...

There was supposed to be a sequel, unfortunately Joe Spinell passed away...there is only a 10 minute promo reel in existence...

Excellent flick with awesome Savini effects. I love the shotgun blast through the windshield scene! RIP Spinell...

classic........the voice overs going on in Franks head...fucking MANIAC!
Caroline Munroe....falling for Frank...keep repeating to yourself....it's only a movie..it's only....
King of the scumbags....well David Hess is still alive....but Joe Spinell is a legend....still gotta see the documentary on his life.

Not Maniac, but related and more Spinell is always good...

Troma is re-releasing fanatic, under its original title, The Last Horror Film...has the original artwork...Stars Spinell and Munro...

It is full frame, but it is uncut...has cool extras as well...full length commentary by Spinell friend, Luke Walter, a featurette and interview with Bill Lustig...
