That's Medical Deviate... Very Happy

aka Zombie Holocaust

Ah, gotta love the Italians...they are always known for doing the cash in, and this film is no exception...in this, they mixed both the cannibal and zombie sub-genre's and then throw in the crazy doctor character as well...makes for a fun watch...

Loads of gore, some effective looking zombie mutants, gratuitous nudity...what more can you ask for??

The US marketing for this was one of the better campaigns for grindhouse cinema...

For example, the tagline...

He's a depraved, homicidal killer...and he makes house calls!

I guess on 42nd St in New York, before it became all disneyed out, bloody nurses were handing out flyers in the street and the Butcher Mobile, complete with loud speaker would drive up and down the street announcing screenings...

Although the marketing really had nothing to do with the context of the film, it did stop the sleaze merchants from checking it out...and it was relatively successful...

Not sure on the availability on this...last I knew, it was part of one of the Shriek Show box sets...

Worth a watch for sure, especially if you are downing some beers...

Oh, and there is an unintenionally funny stunt scene that has too be seen...

Zombies, cannibals, mad doctors, tits and blood. What's not to like? This film has it all.

What i like most is how the Itallians like to recycle sets LOL. You can tell there were some of the same sets used in Fulci's Zombie as well as in this one. But i digress i loved this film there is something for everyone and it still stood up as a solid film.
