This is the adaptation with Robert Englund. Overrall it turned out to be a lot better than I had anticipated. Despite the fact it feels more like a "Freddy goes to the Opera!" the film provides fun for the horror audience. Most of the cast is compromised of stock characters and the acting is lacking in areas, but Englund's performance, the photography, the gore, and its consistent entertainment values are sufficient make up for it. It's not a faithful to the story as it could be, but at least it's not an In Name Only-type of affair.
