Quote :
The year is 1645 - the middle of the English Civil War. Matthew Hopkins (Vincent Price), an opportunist and witchhunter, takes advantage of the breakdown in social order to impose a reign of terror on East Anglia. Hopkins and his assistant, John Stearne (Robert Russell), visit village after village, brutally torturing confessions out of suspected witches. They charge the local magistrates for the work they carry out.

Ahh another great Vincent Price film, this time he is supported by Ian Ogilvy and Hillary Dwyer and an excellant script taken from the 1966 book by Ronald Bassett. If you have not seen this it has the undie seal of approval Price's performance is top notch as always

Fuck yea, one of Price's best!!!

There's atmosphere, a great story/plot

A good amount of torture scenes in it too.

Yes WG/ The Conqueror Worn is an amazing film, very bleak and at times an unsettling film for the time it was released, tons of atmosphere and I love all the sets done in the English countryside. I would have to say that this is by far one of Vincent Prices strongest roles, and probably my favorite.

If I remember correctly Vincent was always raging mad through the whole filming of the movie, due to constant abuse of the director, because he did not want him playing the role, he wanted Donald Pleasence instead. I do love old Donald as well, but I would have to say Vincent was the man for the job!

MOM did a great DVD reissue of it a while back in their Midnight Movies series, it is a top notch release for sure.

Great film. I still think that this is Price's best performance. Everyone should see this film.
