This is my favorite Spaghetti Western of all time...
Released in 1968 and directed by Sergio Corbucci, it tell the story of a mute gunslinger that goes up against a gang of bounty hunters that manipulate a town.
Has a very downbeat ending which is shocking, a great Morricone score and is set in the winter, which really gives it its cold feel...The cinematography is excellent as well...
Klaus Kinski plays the antagonist, Loco and is great as always...
Fun little fact: Franco Nero was supposed to play the lead role of Silence, but was unavailable...the role went to Jean-Louis Trintignant, who was still great...
